Dinner at Farran House is like a family meal , it is served under candle light on our large antique dining table in our dining room. Below are some examples, please be aware that the following combinations are not always available.

Traditional Country House Style 4 course meal

  • Parsnip soup- Roast leg or shoulder of home produced lamb- Tarte tatin

  • Green spring soup – Cod baked in white wine served with seasonal vegetables – chocolate mousse cake

  • Crab meat salad – Angus Beef Rib eye or striploin steak with a red wine sauce served with mushrooms, onions and mashed potato – poached plums with cream

  • Pea and coriander soup – Lemon and garlic chicken served with crunchy green salad and new potatoes- Summer fruit jelly with mint cream

  • Grilled courgettes with herbs and a chickpea sauce – Pan grilled duck breasts with lentils and red cabbage – Spiced pear cake

  • Grilled goats cheese salad – Roast beef with yorkshire puddings and seasonal vegetables – Pears poached in red wine

  • Red and green winter salad – Stuffed pork tenderloin in a saffron sauce served with couscous – lemon cheese tart with bottled autumn fruit

  • Roast aubergine soup- Salmon steaks baked with green beans, cherry tomatoes and olives- Seasonal Crumble

  • Grilled mushroom and asparagus salad- Whole poached salmon served with a light chive sauce and seasonal vegetables- Summer berries with vanilla cream

All of the above are followed by a platter of Irish cheeses followed by Tea/Coffee/Herbal

Euro 50 per person, you may bring your own wine at no extra cost.
